Got to LOVE the way they think!

We'll we're going to attempt to go to Florida for a family vacation once again. I can't wait to get away from the snow! We should have great weather down there and tons of sun. Give me that Vitamin D!! I'm hoping for a wonderful relaxing time, with alot of nothing to do. We've been pretty busy around here so it will be a nice break for us. PLUS it'll be a nice break before Danny's next surgery at the end of the month.

I had my second treatment of Tysarbi on Thursday. It was pretty rocky as to if I would even be able to get the infusion because I was taking steroids due to the severe headache/relapse earlier in the week. It was finally approved that yes I could have the treatment. PHEW! Leave it to me to have a reaction after the medicine was finished....my face, neck and chest became very flushed. Now they would like me to take benadryl before I go, just to be on the safe side. I am still on a mission to find a newer, better way to keep my MS at bay...as I still have alot of symptoms/relapses. I have been very weak and fatigued with lots of aches that have made it pretty difficult for me to walk. I got "the talk" once again about how I should be using a cane or walker. But I have a secret, I push Danny's chair or push a cart around and no one is the wiser that I need something to help me walk. Having a handicap license for Danny and for me is a bonus! And you got to LOVE the newest symptom I'm having which is what I call the Parkinson shake ~ it's awful! I had a bunch of labs done today after my Neurology appt so once they are in we are going to decided if I should start a different med or increase the meds I'm already on, UGH! I'm definitely not going to start a new med right before I go on Vacation so it will have to wait till we come back if that is the case.

We bought a new mini van to replace our full size Ford van. This too will be converted so that Danny can get in, but with more ease. This one will have a ramp that will fold out from the rear hatch instead of a lift that lowers out of the side doors. I can't wait! Best of all....wait for it....for those of you that know Dan.....wait for it......it's NOT a Ford, it's a Toyota.....I know, right? I bet he gets hives not being in a Ford, but for me there's no issue. Of course in true Osero style the van was "lost" for about 4 days. REALLY, how can they lose a van? But at the same time it doesn't surprise me. The vehicle was being delivered from Michigan to Milwaukee on a transit but it didn't make it's destination on Thursday like it was suppose to and no one could find it. Well it finally made it to Milwaukee, today, but unfortunately it's not in enough time for us to pick it up and have everything ready before we leave so I we'll pick it up when we come back from Florida.

I send a heart felt very educated email to Danny's orthopedic surgeon about his up coming rod lengthening surgery on April 1st. It's become apparent to us that Danny is having significant pain in his right hip again which is making normal daily cares very difficult and tear filled, for all. So I proposed that instead of doing the steroid injection in that hip (I feel a band -aid) I believe the inevitable surgery (a Girdlestone procedure ~ cutting the head of the femur) is the better route to go. The only thing I can TRULY give Danny to make a "difference" in his life.... is comfort. I'm willing to invest the extra time and steps to make the quality of his life more comfortable for longer. I'm still waiting to here the Dr opinions and see if there is time available that can be added to his rod lengthening surgery. Once again the waiting game, sigh.

Please keep Danny's girlfriend Kylee and her family in your thoughts n prayers. As they are preparing to let their Lil Angel go. They are going through something that no family should have to ever endure. My heart breaks for them. What a wonderful family and I'm so glad our paths have crossed to make a great friendship. We LOVE you KYLEE!

Slow and Steady

Not too much to report over here. I guess that is a good thing :) February was here and gone, wow time flies.

Avrianna is finished with swim for the season. She has decided to not swim in the spring/summer season BUT she will start up again in the Fall/Winter which goes from September to February. There is alil break between now and when spring/summer starts so maybe she'll change her mind....we'll see. She finished doing VERY WELL. Her ribbon board received more ribbons from the last meet she had in Fond du lac. What a wonderful facility that was to swim at. Unfortunately another BIG snow storm hit as we were getting there on Sunday so once we were ready to leave the roads were AWFUL. Fond du lac had already but a towing ban on so IF we were in need of help we'd have to wait it out till after the storm had passed. Thankfully we made it home safe with no issues. Slow n steady :) Avrianna is pretty excited to have some time off. Swim is a BIG commitment with practice 3 times a week and then a meet that takes up one weekend a month so for her to be able to just veg around after school is a blessing for her. Right now Avrianna just has piano on Monday nites so the rest of the week she is "bored" ~ LOL, never a dull moment with that girl. She needs to be busy ALL the time. This weekend I am going along with her Girl Scout troop for a sleepover at the Children's Museum...welcome a late nite with a stiff back in the morning :) Avrianna is EXTRA excited as next Monday her expander is coming off. 6 months of having all that hardware in her mouth. I have to say I'm very proud of her as she really didn't complain about it at all. I know I wouldn't have been such a good trooper about it. I'm not sure how it all works with getting it off and going to the phase 2 which is braces, if the braces will be going on right away on Monday too or not. Of course this too will be something new so she can't wait to get them on....we'll see how excited she is a couple days after the braces are on, heehee. Avrianna is doing AWESOME in school...I'm so proud of her. She placed higher then the ADVANCED bracket for her Math and Reading state testing. WOW, that was a surprise to me for the reading as I had just got a letter in the mail stating she was struggling alil with it.....I think Avrianna does better with the written tests then she does with the oral ones. Yay! And Math well she is a WIZ I don't need to worry about that subject with her. Maybe she needs to be in a class that needs to be challenge her more, I mean higher then Advanced ~ WONDERFUL ~ Way to GO Avrianna! Unfortunately she had to deal with some school bus bullying but for the most part she handled VERY WELL and did what she needed to do and got help with it. She's a tough cookie but boy can kids be mean....it's SO SAD that kids have to deal with this at such an early age. I just breaks my heart :( But I'm glad she was smart enough to get help :) And cudos to the school for stepping up and helping her/us to defuse the problems.

Danny continues to be healthy :), I hope I don't screw myself by saying that. Unfortunately he still has ALOT of discomfort in his lower back hip area. I'm hoping that with growing the rods out and having the steriod injection in his hip area it will help with relieving his pain. It's just awful knowing that when I pick him up, change his diaper, or just reposition him that he'll cry. Pulling at the heart strings here :( We are going to have his pre-op done here by his Pediatrician so we don't have to run back down to Milwaukee. We might have to go down the afternoon before surgery to have his PICC line placed. I'm hoping if we do then they can admit him right afterwards so we are in house for the surgery first thing the next morning. It will be less stressful and less traveling for us if it can be done this way. I'm waiting for the Ortho dept to call us back with the details of what's all going to happen. We'll be talking with Danny's Neurologist this month about his "non-seizures" episodes and what is the best way to treat it.

I will be going in to see my Osteopathic doctor this week not only to crack every bone in my back in neck, LOL....but to have injections of steroids and numbing meds in the base of my head. The hope is to get rid of this headache!!! I'm alil nervous about needles going in my head/neck but I'm to the point that I will try anything. Next week I go in for my second dose of the new MS med Tysarbi. I'm so glad I had no reactions to the first treatment, but I still feel uneasy as I know it can have serious side effects down the road :( I have a follow up with my Neurologist in the middle of this month my stuff.

We have planned to go down to Florida for spring break. I am really looking forward to sun, pool time, and getting together with my friends down there. I really miss not being able to go down there for months at a time anymore. This trip is going to be alittle different for us....I'm so excited that Danny's nurses are coming down too. One of them is driving down with us and then flying home.....while the other will fly in and then drive home with us. It's going to be GREAT time!

Windy State

We made the forever long trip down to FL. Avrianna had gotten off the bus and right into the RV as we were waiting for her at the bus stop. Once the bus stopped I think all the kids on it went up to the front to see our RV, it is was so cute. Off we went at 2:30 on Friday afternoon and Sunday morning we arrived at our condo door around 10:00am. We had anticiapted to drive all the way through (about 27 hours) but then decided it wasn't worth it. The kids did wonderful, even better then I, heehee. After awhile you feel like we're never going to reach the destination. The weather was great on the way down and we didn't hit much traffic except for in Chicago......I so much dislike Chicago!
The weather has been VERY WINDY n cool since we've gotten here but the rest of the week is looking like great weather. I hope that the wind dies down because every time I attempt to take Danny out once the wind hits his face he panics and freaks out. So we've been hanging indoors since we got here....mind you that's in the stores and resturants not just sitting in the condo, got to love that. None the less it's still wonderful here. Avrianna was nawing at the bit to get in the pool so yesterday she managed to take a dip. I was out of the pool watching her and I froze, she's crazy! I hope we can get Lil Man in the pool alil bit while we are down here but it definitely has to warm up and the wind needs to die down before that will happen. I don't need him getting ill while down here. Plus IF he stays well this will be the first Easter EVER that he will be healthy for, knock on wood quick and cross your fingers.
I really missed my girlfriend and neighbor here, it was so nice to see here once we pulled in. She's a wonderful person! Once we got inside I saw that she got goodies for the kids, us, and even had the refrig stocked with beer n dinner. Not only did she do that for us, she cleaned the condo for me. WOW, I owe her BIG TIME ~ LOVE you Linda!!!!
We don't have much planned other then playing each day by ear while here in Florida. I do have to say not having any obligations during the day is WONDERFUL, no appts, school, piano lessons, therapies, etc. The only real plans is no plans at all, LOL. We are going to go out to eat with the Speech and Physical therapists that Danny used to see when we were down here. I'm telling you the people down here are great ~ I LOVE IT!! We do and see so much while we are down here, as when we are in WI we pretty much are home bodies.
Once back to WI we have alot going on. Many dr appts for follow ups and to get him ready for the BIG surgery in May. Plus getting the outside ready for summer, not to mention redoing some things on the house. It will be so nice to not have contractors over ALL the time.
I am once again having a relapse, not sure what has brought this one on, as my mid back all the way down to my left foot has gone numb. It would come and go last week, but for the last 3 days n nights straight it has constantly been numb. They feel like your lip does after the dentist, tingly and prickly. I still have function of my leg n foot right now, it's just a very weird and unsetttling feeling. I've made a phone call to my Neurologist but I'm not sure there is anything she can do for it plus with me being on vacation I'm sure that doesn't help. We'll see!

Wrapping up

Danny just had a 48 hour EEG done as the doctors feel he's "pain" might be seizure episodes. I hope they got enough information so we know what's going on with Lil Man on a daily basis. They want me to increase his meds once again, but I'm now in the prove it mode. His liver functions have gotten all out of whack with these meds before so I'm not too excited about increasing them unless we come up with some proof and possibly other alternatives. My fear is if we start screwing around with his liver functions now and if he should need to be back on TPN after his spinal fusion/rods in May we've just added fuel to the fire as TPN also effects the liver. UGH!!!
Here is his dread locks of wires, all 25 glue to his head with glue that's "better then super glue". When they flatten his hair up you really can see how small is head really is. The top is so small because his brain doesn't grow so there is nothing pushing out the skull. I have infant hats that fit!

This time around they gave him a bandana to wear around the bandage holding all the wires in place. Now instead of getting the looks as if he had brain surgery they think he's had chemo. I just want to have a sign out saying there are wires glued to his head .... that's it no biggy! Here he is so cool........ready for Harley ride, I think.

After washing his hair of all the glue....well I thought I got it out. It still looks as if I dipped his head in white paint. I'm going to try to wash it tomorrow with baby oil and see if that helps get the glue out, UGH!

We had Avrianna's conferences with her teacher this week. She is doing so well and just shining in school. I'm so proud of her! Her teacher says she's a model student and that she a joy to have in class. Boy does she have them all fooled, LOL. I can't express enough how happy I am that she is not only doing so well but enjoying school. She is also excelling in her piano classes. I'm in awe of the music she can play and how awesome it sounds. Danny just LOVES listening to her play so I think that's an incentive for her :) She's a great BIG sister!!!
It's approx. 72 hours and we'll be in the sunny state for some much needed R&R time for the Osero's. The bags are packed, the RV is almost ready, and we just have to get the odds n ends things together on Friday. I'm to the point with packing up Danny's equipment and supplies up where we need wait till the day we leave as I use it daily. It's been a year since we've been able to get down there and we ALL are excited to get there. It is going to be so nice to have no plans, no doctor visits, no therapy, no nursing, no contractors......just US. With the economy we've decided to hold on to our condo and see if it's a better idea to just rent it out once in awhile and that way we'll always have a place to go to.
Dan's getting ready for racing as when we get back he will be in full force. So the car is getting it's tweeks and repairs done so once the track is open he'll be ready, set, go.

Looking UP

Well things are looking up in the Osero household :) We are ALL healthy (hear me knocking on wood). I have started to pack for Florida so I can only hope that we continue. BUT we have decided to sell our condo in Florida as keeping if for us to stay there 2-4 weeks a year just isn't feasible. Even though we won't have the condo there we'll still stay in that location for our vacations. It's such a nice area!
I can honestly say I am back to "normal" and the relapsing symptoms are in remission, whoohooo. My second round of labs have come back still with borderline hypothyroidism, which explains alot of the other symptoms that's been going on, SO I'm so glad I decided NOT to blame everything that is going on with me on the MS. I need to go in a redo the labs again in three months! It's amazing how great you feel (even when your not 100% yet) when you have felt so yucky for so long. I am going to see the DO doc again tomorrow and I'm looking forward to another back/neck treatment. I got the call today from my neurologist that the brain MRI I had last week does not show any new lesions on my brain. Whoooohooooo, Yeah me!
Danny is doing well, I guess. Unfortunately he has been having issues of pain lately, I can't pinpoint it yet where it's coming from. This is heart breaking for me to see my Lil Man just crying out and I have no idea where it's coming from or why. Today we had our new nurse start today, and she's going to be a great fit for our family :)
Avrianna is loving that the weather is warming up around here and the snow is gone. She is getting outside riding her bike n scooter and roller blading. Which makes it alot quieter in the house, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Talking about houses we were very lucky to found a lovely family for our old house before we even put it on the market. Another thing off of our to do lists. I'm so glad we don't have to worry about maintaining it for the summer. I'm going to miss that house.....I had really hoped that the house would have worked for our family and lifestyle longer. Our house now is getting a big spring clean as we cleaned ALL our linens, blankets, pillows, and with having the window open here in there we are slowly getting the winter blahs out.

Still Sick!

Love this T-shirt....so appropriate! Everyone always wants to kiss him!! Thanks Griffy for the shirt! Too bad he was so sick when I took this. You can see how glassy his eyes are and how pale he is. Danny is going on 2 weeks with this last bought of Pneumonia ;( with no real improvement as of yet. Yesterday we went in for labs and more xrays. We started up steroids yesterday and MORE breathing treatments. Poor guy! I feel awful he been so sick lately. Guess I had this false impression that the trache would help him, well I guess it does with the cares of the pneumonia, but I was hoping he wouldn't GET it so much. This makes #2 in the last 2 months. As I know all TOO WELL every pneumonia it gets makes his poor lil boy more tired and can cause more damage to his lungs. I worry about that amount of pneumonia's he has had this year and I'm FREAKING out! I was always told that what Danny has won't take him, it will be a respiratory problem that will............... I'm worried :(

Last night was our REAL first snow. Check out the BIG flakes! It was very pretty.......I've seen the snow and now it can GO, heehee. Um yeah I'm NOT a winter person AT ALL! It's pretty n all but the cold SUCKS! With that being said I don't think we are going to go to Florida for winter/Christmas break like we had planned. I don't want to risk being in another state with Danny being so unstable....I don't think anyone would have fun, it'd be to hard on everyone, and it's not worth making him sicker for just a trip. Danny is more comfortable here in his own bed and we have more support for him here, so I think we'll have to plan a trip down south another time. Danny's health is more important right now plus Avrianna will be pretty happy about it as she wasn't too impressed with being in Florida for Christmas anyway.

Last week Dan and I broke out the Norwegian side of us. We made Kringla and I attempted my first time with Lefse. Avrianna busted out her apron and helped me out with the Kringla this year. Dan has assumed the baking responsibilities, heehee. So we are making it a family tradition :) Here are some pictures of the lefse....I even liked eating this year.

We Made it!

Hello faithful followers!! We made it and are just about all settled in. What a trip! The weather wasn't in our favor Friday night. About an hour before we were to depart it started to snow, sigh. Which wouldn't have been bad, but the ground was warm so the snow melted right away until it hit freezing temp....then it was a winter wonderland of ICE! The trip from my house to Chicago (which normally takes 3 hours) was 5 hours long and a slippery mess. I drove 45 mph and that was the fastest the RV would go without fish tailing. I was on guard!! I counted 9 accidents from my house to Milwaukee, yikes. I stopped driving around 3 am and then Dan took over, but not for long.......about 30 miles down there was a HUGE accident, just into Indiana, and they closed the freeway, yeap shut down the whole thing....so there we sat for 1.5 hours at 3 in the morning. I went to bed for some much needed shut eye and Dan got out to chit chatted with the semi drivers. So needless to say we are investing into a CB so we can be alarmed of this set back BEFORE we get stuck in it. The worst was we just passed a truck stop about 1 mile back so if we would have known early enough we could have stopped there and we all could have gotten a better night sleep instead of hanging out on the freeway. WOW talk about destruction in Kentucky....the whole state, on HWY 65, It was so sad to see, just about EVERY tree along the way was up rooted or broken in some way. From what I was told this isn't even the heart of the ice storm. WOW what a mess that needs to be cleaned up...well they won't run out of mulch or fire wood, heehee! So with the weather set back and the accident we were about 4 hours behind schedule already, ugh!! We still managed to get to the condo about 2:30 yesterday afternoon so we weren't too bad with time. The RV is cleaned out, washed, and already in storage. We just have to drop the sewer later today and then it will sit till we leave to go back to Wisconsin the end of April, but we won't talk about that yet, LOL. I have pretty much everything put away, Avrianna is doing her school work, and Dan & Danny are watching some TV (aka trying to stay out of my way, LOL). Here are some pictures of our travel...

Working Plumbing!

I think I figured out the issues with Danny and his peepee problems. I also realized yesterday that he hadn't had a bowel movement in four days either. So after the babylax enema, some much needed assistance, and three (yes three) diapers later I think he is cleaned out, YAY! Danny even peed twice today all by himself. So I guess constipation and lack of peepee go hand in hand. Poor thing! He even gave me a few smiles today.
Today after her school work was done, Avrianna hung out by the pool with Aunt Bonnie and Grandma/pa Kohl. While Dan, Danny and myself ran some errands. Tomorrow is going to be Danny and my day to sit and relax by the pool too as we haven't been able to get to the pool yet.
Unfortunately once AGAIN the Lee County School system has failed my son! I really had high hopes for them but nope.......they knew I was coming here over a month ago and they just now scheduled an IEP update for Nov 14th. WTF!! So by the time they get to the meeting and start scheduling something for him Thanksgiving break will be here and then we leave. ARGH! I am going to start calling around for at least a PT tomorrow. I'm sure the Children's Hospital that I took Avrianna to this spring would have therapist there or at least a lead to someone. I wanted to really work out and stretch lil man before surgery so I am going to have to step up to the plate even more if I can't find anyone....or he'll have to bring his WI therapist with us when we come down here, heehee.
Tomorrow night we will have to watch the election to see how it turns out. I'm not big on politics but like to see how it ends. My opinion is they all lie and cheat just to get the votes they want then they don't follow through. It is what it is and we'll have to deal with the outcome....which ever one is elected they alot of work to do and alot eyes on them.

Hello - I didn't get lost!

Well we made it to the Sunny State (FLORIDA)! I had phone issues when we first got here so I couldn't get the computer to work either. Today I had a service guy come over and walla we have Internet again. YIPPEE!

First if you haven't seen yet. Little Reesie earned her wings and of all days on her 1st birthday! I can't even imagine how difficult it is to go through the lose of your own child. Lil Reesie is no longer suffering or hooked up to tubes but I bet enjoying a BIG piece of chocolate cake for her BIG birthday. You will be missed princess Reesie!!



The trip down went well, but very LONG! The kids were wonderful once again. I think they do better then I on this ride, LOL. We got on the road about 3pm on Tuesday and stopped around Indy for the night to catch a few zzzz's in a Travel Plaza. Then in the morning we got up and drove into Louisville where the family got to meet Angel Jayden's mom. We sat and chatted it up for about 2 hours and the time just flew by. I am so GLAD we got to meet you Vicki!! We will definitely have to make it a regular stop on our way through. I know it wasn't going to be an easy visit for you so I just want to let you know how much I appreciated seeing you. I am even more in awe of you and you truly inspire me. THANK YOU!! :) I hope we can have a great friendship.
After our visit with Vicki we packed up again into the RV and we made it to just south of Atlanta, GA before stopping for a few more of those zzz's. Thursday we made it here and I went into go mode to get everything put away and back in order. By Friday afternoon everything was done and put away. YAY! Then Dan and I took the kids to a local mall here and we all went trick r treating there. At first I though it was just something to do...to take them out but how much fun at a mall? Well we had a BLAST! It was so nice the kids loved it so I think we will do that kind of trick r treating every year. The mall is a HUGE outdoor mall that is paved with bricks so Danny was laughing up a storm as his wheelchair was going bumpity bump bump. He is SUCH a boy, rougher the better. He just cracks me up! Avrianna said she wants to do that again as just about every store had someone sitting out by their doors giving out candy.....it was great, still outside, still walking, and safe. With me not knowing the area VERY well and most of the area being gated communities I wasn't sure where we were going to go so I am happy to see the mall put it on. Here are my lil Trick R Treaters!! Aren't they the cutest, LOL.



Since being down here I have had only one REALLY BIG issue. Lil Man has decided he shouldn't have to pee AT ALL by himself for the last two days now and the 3 days before this it was at least once a day. So going from maybe 2X a week to 2-4x a day is getting concerning. I'm not sure why the sudden change but if it doesn't clear by Monday I am going to call Dr Kasper and see if he has any ideas. Today I had cath'd him and got (this is just one cathing) 17oz. HOLY CRAP! His poor lil belly was HUGE! When he woke up this morning his diaper was wet and I was so excited, but he must have peed very early in the am so by lunch time when I checked him again and he was dry I didn't think much of it (as I had thought it was about 4-5hrs) till I laid him down to cath him and his lil tummy stuck out so far. I couldn't believe it! So now ALL day I cath'd him. I hope tomorrow is a better day for the pee pee thing.

Ready to Go

Sorry the late post. Boy does time get away from me! Well I tore the house apart and put it back together. It is ALL clean! The kids are all packed and ready to be in the sunny state once again. It was SNOWING outside today, yeap you heard me snowing! YUCK, we are leaving just in time. I don't like snow and cold, at all! Today I busted my butt and got pretty much everything done. I just have a few odds and ends to get together tomorrow. Danny slept today till 3 in the afternoon and went to bed with no problems at about 10:45, I am keeping my fingers crossed that he isn't brewing anything and that is was just a growth spurt (like he needs any more of those, LOL). In the morning Danny and I are heading up to Green Bay to get his pump filled with new meds and then back home to pack up in the RV then we're off. I will post once we get there and get settled in. We are planning on taking the kids trick r treating so we need to be there by Friday. Plus all of Danny's supplies, food, ect. are being shipped from WI on Wednesday so I need to beat them there as I don't want the stuff sitting outside. I hope to meet one of the Caring Bridge mom's along the way down this time in Kentucky I am excited to meet her as I know she has had a rough go of things as she lost her son this summer. I can't wait to meet her in person and let her know how much she and her son's story had inspired me and touched my heart.

Here my lil man in his new wheels. This is a Solara by Invacare. He loves blue so we had it blue this time. The additional head piece you see that wraps around the base of his head over his shoulders is called the "Hawk" head rest. I am only going to be using this one primarly when he is in therapy and they are trying to get him to use better head control. For the most part his LOVES it and so do I. Dan had to make some adjustments so that we could transport him in the van with the EZ lock system and now all is well. Avrianna keeps saying he is "handsome in his new chair". What an awesome big sister she is!!





Here's my lil birthday girl at her party. I decorated the cake for her...she loved it! The party was a fun time there ended up being 12 kids over for the "kids" party and I had them make spider bracelets out of pipe cleaners and then we had them put there hands in bags and they had to figure out what was in there ie: peeled grapes were eye balls, wet cold carrots were fingers, cooked spaghetti noodles in oil were guts, and mushed up finger jello was brains. After the games she opened her presents they all had cake and ice cream and then went downstairs to burn off some energy. It was a great time. After the kiddos left we had a second swing of party goers....a family party which we ended up having about 25 people, WOW! Dan and I made smoked turkey and roasted a ham with ALL the fixings. Just like a Thanksgiving dinner! (I said because I will be gone for turkey day that it was my thanksgiving then, LOL.)It was alot of work but it turned out to be wonderful. She's getting so big so fast, sigh!

Scheduling Day

Well last night I decided that the Osero's are going to Florida. So I booked Dan a ticket back to Wisconsin after he helps us drive down and a flight back to help us drive back home. He's not one to sit in Florida long so he helps drive us to and fro and will spend a couple extra days with us then back home to Wisconsin where he will spend most of his time Hunting and cutting wood (his other favorite pass times). I cleared our schedules for the month of November and moved some things around to the end of October or Mid December. So after trick or treating here in WI we will head down south to the sunny state for some rest and relaxation. We will return some time mid December, just enough time for me to decorate the house for Christmas and plan Danny's birthday party. Then Jan 2nd I scheduled BOTH kids to have their surgeries..yeap you heard me right, BOTH, I know I'm Nuts. I figured with both stays being around 3-5 days lets do them at the same time. So we have it coordinated to have both kids in the same room after surgery and Dan and I will tag team them both. Recovery time for Danny's hip repositioning will be 6 weeks in a brace or 12 weeks in a cast (they won't know till they do the surgery, so cross you fingers it's the lesser of the two). Avrianna's spleen and gall bladder removal will be done laproscopically and really will have a shorter recovery time, BUT due to not having her spleen will be at EXTREME HIGH RISK for viruses, bacteria, & infection, so that's the scary part making sure she doesn't get sick cuz her body will not fight it off anymore. So being healthy around the kids will be VERY crucial!! I am planning on leaving after the surgeries and we are cleared from recovery in mid Feb to go back to Florida and hide out the cold and flu season there. I didn't think I was going to be gone that long again but I can't afford the chance of either kiddo getting sick. So my day was filled with moving appt, cancelling appt, and getting things in place for when we get down there. I am hoping with Florida getting a longer heads up they will be on their game with getting Danny's therapies up and running when we get there so there will not be any long delays between services here to down there.
