Well.........

I have to tell you ..... a Holiday for The Osero's is always interesting!  To say the least.
Love these 2 elves of mine!!
This year for Christmas eve Av and I went to my grandparents house for gifts and dinner.  A tradition that has been going on since I was a kid.  Unfortunately due to lack of space and the amount of people Danny and Dan stayed home.  I wasn't going to put Danny in a corner in a different room just so he could be "there".  It really SUCKED having to have my family split up, but I put that smile on my face and made the best of it for Av and my grandparents sake.  Ho Ho Ho
 Awe isn't she so cute!!
Santa's helpers handing out the stocking that are hung with care.
Once we got home from my Grandparents place Dan and Av took off and went to the 10pm church service were Av had to acolyte.  I stayed at home with Danny and got his cares finished and ready for bed, as we didn't have any afternoon or evening nursing.
It was a zero percent chance of snow for Christmas.  Well I guess we had a Christmas miracle because we got snow.  There wasn't a lot but just enough to dust everything white.

We must have been good because ~ Santa came!!!!!  Despite a long day and evening on Christmas Eve Av was up at 7:30 running through the house with Christmas music a blaring.
Tradition around here is no opening of the gifts till she finds the Pickle ornament and Spider ornament.
Pups enjoyed their treats while she looked
She's very adamant that SHE will be helping Danny open his gifts and HE will be the first to open every year :)
Meet DJ Dannys Healing Helper Bear.  He is amazing .... I wrote to the company and told them what animal I wanted and then all the surgeries that Danny has had and they went to work to give Danny a bear that had the same surgeries as he did.  So he had buttons in his ears for the perforated ear drums, med port button, g-tube button, he has a cuffed trache, heart patch, CP patch, name band with "Touched By Danny's Life", a zipper that opens in the front with a gall bladder and stomach that comes out, a zipper that opens in the right abdomen and a baclofen pump comes out, then a zipper on his right leg for his hip/leg surgeries
Flip him over and his back also have zippers/scars for the back surgeries just like Danny!  This bear is AWESOME!!  Unfortunately they couldn't make the right leg shorter as they were afraid with the zippers in the area that shortened leg wouldn't hold up well.  They were amazed as this was the most surgeries done to one of their bears to date.
 Christmas morning is so tiring!!
She's ready to open her gifts
Hover board....that we will be watching very closely as I see some are overheating and a fire hazard
 Go Pro
According to her... "Best Christmas EVER"
Oh Boy, I have the EMS on speed dial just in case ~ LOL
Pups are ready for the cold temps to come now

Tradition here is after gifts are open we put on a spread of snackies for the day and veg away in our jammies playing with our stuff.
And just like that.....the fun and relaxation for me was.....OVER.  At noon on Christmas morning it was like a switch turned on and multiple things started effecting sweet Danny.  He started Wretching, having neuros, breathing was difficult so he was put on Oxygen, he stopped producing urine, spiked a fever and things just started heading south fast  ~ AHHHHH!!!!!
I stayed in close contact with his Pediatrician and managed to change up some of his treatments so we could stay home.  I did take him into see Dr K and to get xrays and labs done on Monday (which is Dr K's day off....how awesome that he comes in for us).  The right lung doesn't look good with effusion and infiltrates so we upped his treatments more and started an antibiotic (so much for the c diff procedure, which was also tested and came back negative for once.....we'll see how long that lasts now that he is back on antibiotics, sigh)
I would pop out of his room once in a while when I could...... Here they are with "some assembly required"
It was a whirlwind holiday that was for sure.  But we managed to make the best of it.  Sitting back relaxing reflecting on how lucky I am to have my Lil family!!
Dec 26th Dan and Av loaded up in the car and headed out for a 5-6hr drive towards Indianapolis.  Av is at a Dive Camp till the 31st.  She was alil reserved this time as she went there "alone" without knowing for sure if she would know anyone there.  Once she got there is was GAME ON and she was on the boards and as she says "I'm On FIRE" when she sent me a video of her doing a dive that she learned already on the first day.  AWESOME!!  I can't wait to see and hear about all the great things that she did at dive camp.  It's great the camp posts photos of the days activities on their FB page so I can see her and all the fun they are having!

Winter has finally found us.  Starting on Monday afternoon around 1 and then going into Tuesday afternoon there was around 12" of snow that dropped on us.  We got the snow that everyone was looking for as we had no snow on the ground and then went to a foot of snow in 24hrs.  Personally myself I don't like the stuff and would rather be back to being a Snow bunny in a warmer state during the snowy cold months here.
Winter Snow Storm Ashley
The Pups are not a fan of the white stuff either.
Instead of frolicking in the snow as I see some of my friends dogs do mine requires a path to be snow blown in the yard so they don't have to walk through it.  SISSY's!!!!
I think now is a good time to ask him if we can move south for a few months, lol

I hope you had a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday!  Here's to a new year and may it be bigger and better then 2015.  HAPPY NEW YEARS !!

Celebrating Cheer for all to hear

Well it's here!!  Danny is 12 today ~ A W E S O M E!!
The last 12 years have been inspiring, tough, educational, loving, and well PRICELESS!!  I am NOT the person I was before Danny and for that I am forever grateful to have my very own angel that has shown me the true meaning of unconditional love.  I can only hope and pray that he feels the immense love and joy that I have for him.  My cup is always full with Danny around.  He is my HERO!!  Love you Danny and I hope you have an amazingly great day.  He woke up in a good mood and feeling well so the day is off to a great start already!!

The day after Danny's birthday party Danny and I headed down to CHOW for a new trial procedure to help rid him of his ever reoccurring C Diff, it is called "Fecal Transplant".  Yes you are reading that right and yes it IS what it means AND Yes it does sound gross.  BUT if this works then I'm game.  I've heard good things about the success rate and I can only hope and pray Danny is one of the positive outcomes.  Time will tell!!  The procedure went well but the admission and prep work that needed to be done before wasn't the smoothest it could have been.  I'm not totally surprised at the the "mishaps" but being the seasoned veteran that I am in CHOW I've gotten pretty good and being on my game and catching things before they happen.  Unfortunately Danny didn't take to well to the added fluid that was given to him for the prep of the colonoscopy and the extra fluid really hit him hard with respiratory complications on top of him probably catching some bug while we were there.  Thankfully we were able to treat him here at home with additional respiratory care and rescue meds for his dysautonomia storms so we didn't have to go back and be admitted.  If you'd like to learn more about C diff treatment with Fecal transplant this is a great website to go to, it is the fecal bank company's website and it has tons of information about all you need to know.  http://www.openbiome.org/

On Friday of last week Dan and I had the privileged of transporting the band equipment in our enclosed car trailer for the 8th grade band students as they performed at 3 different elementary schools for a Christmas concert tour.  The Kids did great!! Av even surprised us with a special performance her and 6 other band members did.  Here is a slideshow of their tour performances ...ENJOY!

December 8th was a most anticipated day here at the Osero household.  After 17 LONG months and it being the second time they were on....The last Phase of braces wearing has come to an end.  Av got an early Christmas present and her teeth are FREE!  Check out the smile ~  She will need to continue to wear a retainer but only in the evening.  Say CHEESE

The transitions from her first mold to her smile now.....WOW, looking good!!  Thanks to Kessler Orthodontist
You might have noticed that Av is wearing her glasses.  Her day of joy and celebration was tainted as she developed and ulcer in and on her eye, which resulted in a trip to the optometrist right after the orthodontist appt (thankfully they are across the street from each other).  They dilated her eye for 2 days and then she needed to put in drops of a steroid/antibiotic for over a week.  So she wasn't able to go to school the first day of her braces off and show her new smile to everyone due to the dilated and discomfort of her eye.  They are not quite sure how her eye got that way as she wears daily disposable contacts and they are suppose to help with not having this issue, so she's either really "lucky" or she slept with her contacts in which resulted in over usage.  Well I bet she'll never over wear them again, if that was the case.  Can you tell which one it was?  It makes my eyes water just looking at the photo, lol.  Poor bug!!

Holiday traditions were in full gear this week as we made our Lefse and Kringla (Norwegian treats).  This year we added peanut butter blossoms and we ended up having some additional help with Av's friends making the dough and baking the PB blossoms.  We had a great time!!
HELP!  My poor kitchen and my OCD is kicking in!!
 My help

Then the next day Dan, Av, and I got our baking on !!  Av really got IN with it all this year, our official lefse roller and she even maned the griddle for a while
Yes Dan sports that apron well ~ lol

Av really got the knack of Spinning the Kringla into the figure 8's and we got them done in record time this year.  Which was good as the lefse takes FOREVER!!
 YUMMY finished products.

At Church this weekend they honored the firefighters in our congregation ~
No you don't see me eating cake for breakfast!!
He even went up to the front of the church
To say a prayer, receive his memory stone, and be acknowledged by all :)

In 2 more days Christmas will be here and we'll be ending 2015....it just amazes me how fast it is all going.  Then on the 26th Dan will be driving Av down to Indianapolis for a 5 day dive camp... Have I told you how much she loves to dive, lol.  He'll go back down to pick her up on the 31st so I'll get to see her alil bit during break.  She's so much like her dad and is constantly ON THE GO!

Here is Our 2015 Christmas card....Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  From Our Family to Yours ~ Happy Holidays!!

Partying at the rink ~ 12 years!!

Who can believe that Danny is going to be 12 in just 2 more days?!  Who would have thought that?!  I'm in denial ~ TOTALLY and completely.  But how awesome that my "little" man whom was not to make it to his 1st birthday is one year away from being a teenager.  WOW!

We had his birthday party on the 12th of December....how appropriate to have your 12th birthday party on the 12th!  We went to a local roller rink and had a blast with his friends.  The roller rink has been so accommodating for us and our friends by keeping the lights on, no strobe lights and the music isn't loud.  They played the Happy Birthday song for Danny and we played the number game.  Unfortunately Danny rolled the dice the first roll and rolled us out of the game, lol

Here are some photos of his party

Yummy cupcakes from Tamara's Cake Guru ~ Cherry Dipee, Birthday cake, Lick the Bowl, Blue Moon, and The Grinch
Danny's special guest ~ SANTA came to make his appearance and visit Danny and his friends.  Thank you Santa for taking the time out of your busy schedule to make Danny's parties extra special.  out of our 12yrs we've only missed him 2 yrs and both were due to medical issues ~ one Danny was hospitalized and the other year we didn't have a party for Danny as he had just had his hip surgery and was in a hip to ankle brace so he couldn't wear pants.
Check us out!
Yes even at his party he is a "cool" kid and needed to keep his coat and hat on.  But it was kind of chilly in there, so it wasn't totally Danny's fault
 Wyllow and her family
How cool one on one time Parker with mommy and his first time attending one of Danny's parties.
New Nurse Emily came to party :)
Cool family shot skating together ~ Raymond and Nick
Look who came to the party....we Miss you Ms Gail!!
So wonderful to have new families come the celebrate with us
Mr Jeromy wasn't going to let those balloons out of his sight during his family photo ~ lol
Ms Keren with her younger boys
 Aunt Bonnie with Santa ~
Me, Santa, and Nanny (my mom)
 The 3 Lil elves
What a great crew this year!!
Danny LOVES it when Av would take him around the rink!!  I have been so blessed that they have such a great bond ~ LOVE LOVE!!  I was so proud that Av wanted to show Danny off and hang out with him even with her "special friend" Carter being there.  It warms my heart that he isn't shy or put off by Danny and right there in with everything.
Opening gifts when back at the house.... yes he was still chilly so his hat stayed on.

Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate Danny's birthday and went out of your way to get him a not needed but appreciated gifts.  Here's a great 12th year!!!
