Nothing Goes Smoothly

Last night the kids and I went to WIR to watch Dan race. There was a big show with jet cars and Fireworks at the end. We took our neighbors with us too, we all had a great time! Danny was a trooper and had a great time, not to mention he was a popular attraction with the girls, as always LOL
Danny helping Mom out stage the car for Dad :) He's sooooo cool!
Dan's first burn out
Dan's second n last of the night burn out. Unfortunately he broke out (went faster then he said the car was going to go) by .007 of a second. It was so close, but hey it was a good race :)

Danny watching his newest Girl ~ Jill
His first Jet car experience! He did pretty good, he only "spooked" when the car went by....as I'm sure he felt it pass. I had ear plug and ear muffs on so the noise didn't bother him at all :)

Jill ~ "The Queen of Diamonds" ~ her jet car did 299 mph

Danny sporting his autographed pic of "The Queen of Diamonds"
Avrianna has been excited for many years to drive a Jr Dragster (mom's still not on board for this yet). So to see a local dragster driver that is a girl (not to mention the Jet drag driver was a woman too) Avrianna was stoked! Here she is with the neighbor girls and Nikki Londerville
Now this didn't help matters either ~ LOL. Thanks Nikki!

Dan's Cheer leading squad in the stands, heehee

Danny got his newest walking sling ~ I LOVE IT! Looks like he is going to go parachuting. I'm READY!

I can sit him up tall

Standing.........Really Mom, do I have to? I can't believe how tall he it.

OK Mom, are we done yet?
Must be genetic.....the attitude. Not sure where my kids get that, LOL

As of today the surgery is still schedule for July 13th at 10:15am down at Children's Hospital, and we are going to have a PICC line put in here at the local hospital the day before. Hoping to resolve any hiccups that day of surgery. BUT if the labs Dr K took on Friday come out funny then the deal is off. Leave it to MY SON to throw and curve ball at us in the last inning. He has been developing Petechiae in multiple areas of his body. Mostly where he has pressure contact but none the less something not normal with Danny. We need to rule out the serious reasons for him to get it. Right now the only flag if you would call it a flag is his platelets are alil low (not terribly low, but low). We are awaiting his PT & PTT results which will show Danny's clotting ability, if that is off then I'm sure EVERYTHING is off. We should hear from Dr K with the results tomorrow. I will keep you all posted
Dr K. ~ Love this picture of Dr. K pondering on Lil Man..... Hmmmmm, Danny!

He has veins, right?
Dr. Kasper hanging out with his Biggest fan ~ trouble is with DOUBLE trouble, I'll let you guys figure out who is who, LOL

I was on a mission the other day..... A FB friend was inquiring about a few of the things in a picture that she saw that Danny uses. So on here and on FB I updated Danny's equipment. That was so much fun and it was way over due. I didn't think it was going to spark such an interest with my SN families. I'm so glad I was able to help out and spark some ideas with them. I LOVE it when I can do some good and help out.
Today we were suppose to get our family pictures retaken. Key word here is "suppose to"! Avrianna woke up on the wrong side of the bed today and EVERYTHING wasn't right with her, the hair, the make-up, the earring, the outfit, etc...which then put her in a tail spin of hysterical crying. So much for pictures! I cancelled as I didn't want to waste the photographers time coming over to the house and have Avrianna look like hell from crying so much. It was suppose to rain and be crappy, BUT of course the sun was out the whole time our pictures were scheduled for. I could just cry, I'm so disappointed as I really wanted FAMILY pics done. Now I can just hope that we can coordinate something before the surgery. UGH!!!! My head feels as if it's going to explode this afternoon.........hmmm, can't figure out why? LOL! Maybe I should have just stuck with dogs, heehee. It's just the way things roll around here, NOT SMOOTHLY
On too dogs ~ Bailey has been cone free for just over 24 hours. Yippee!!!! I think we're all excited about that. She hasn't touched her legs since I took the cone off, I guess she got the hint!

Productive Whirl Wind Day!

HOLY COW was today busy, but it went smoothly. This morning Danny and I went on our way to the hospital for his Renal ultra sound and afterwards to see his urologist to talk about how he has been and go over the results of the u/s. Of course they like to see the bladder full for this test..........and he peed right when she squirted the jelly on his belly, Oh well :) Once I got up to the doc appt they stated they needed a urine sample........well that would have been good info to know a few minutes AGO, sorry :) The doc came in and stated the "bubble" in his left kidney last year isn't a "bubble" anymore.....so he sent me down to x-ray. Danny had his MRI scheduled for today too so I needed to put the x-ray on hold to do the MRI (which he did AWESOME). I had given him his sleeping medicine (instead of sedating him) so I wanted to take advantage of the "heavy eyes". Unfortunately after the MRI was already in process I find out that no one made sure the Medtronic (ITB pump) rep was there to monitor it. UGH!!!!!!!! They did get ahold of him..........IN GREEN BAY 40minutes away and IN SURGERY! But he reassured me he would see Danny before the end of the day (which I was told wasn't a bad time frame, sigh). I should hear from Danny's Neurologist in 7-10 days with the report. I am very excited but very anxious about the results of really HOW MUCH BRAIN DAMAGE MY SON HAS. It'll be all good, I'm sure of it :) After the MRI they wheeled him across the hall and did his x-ray of his kidney. Then we went back upstairs to go over those and to hopefully be able to obtain a urine specimen, LOL. Well the X-ray didn't show any signs of this "mass" in his kidney......so why don't I go down AGAIN to have a CT done. We were able to get a urine specimen to be tested and cultured, YAY, but not without peeing around the catheter, heehee. I guess he told her where she should stick it, LOL. So down to get the CT scan ~ Yes I couldn't believe it either all were able to get Danny in right away, like that EVER happens. The CT does in fact so the mass, but not in the solid form that he had thought....the doctor was thinking a BIG stone, but this is "mooshie" (like my terminology) and in a "pocket"plus his kidney has significant calcium deposits. Now we have to schedule a scope surgery so the doctor can go in and find out what this mass is. YIKES! "On a good note", the doctor says I get to see more of him......we have a comedian here, LOL. He's a great doctor but really don't want to be seeing more of him :( But will do what we have to do. Then the urine tests came back...his PH levels are WAY TOO HIGH. He believes the PH level and possibly the mass is all due Topamax (which is one of Danny's seizure meds) so here we go again....waying which one is more important? I have a call into Dr Kasper to go over today's knowledge and get his opinions. Plus the Urologist is sending a complete report to Dr Kasper and Danny's Neurologist.
With 15 minutes to spare Danny and I hopped in the van drove across town and went to my physical, oh yay! She says I look GREAT! She is alil concerned about the headaches and the tingling/numbing in my legs also so I have an MRI for myself a week from today. And because I didn't have time to eat breakfast or lunch today I was able to do all my blood work instead of having to come back....BONUS! I'm not too worried about the MRI....it is what it is, my kids have shown me to NOT get uptight about the medical stuff. And we'll deal with whatever path life takes us/me......I look at my lil man and know there is NOTHING I CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT, if I have to go on with alil of what he is living so be it!
As I was pulling into the driveway home there was a man wearing scrubs in my driveway.....yeap they pump guy came to our house. HOLY CRAP! He was so very nice.....he even set off the alarms so I would know what each one sounded like...non emergency and emergency. The pump did in fact shut down when Danny was in the MRI.....but it reset itself about an hour after the MRI, whew that was good. Thanks for coming out for a house call!
Dan is off racing tomorrow so if you got nothing to due....stop on down to WIR in Kaukauna, and check it out. They have show with wheelstanders and possibly some JET cars (my personal fav).

This morning was, I hope, the worst I'm going to feel....I swear I was hit by a truck. My head is going to explode, I can't breath do to my stuffy nose and tight chest and I just can't warm up. I decided to make a pot of HOMEMADE chicken noodle soup to help "the Crud" along. That's the one thing I didn't lose with all this crappy feeling is my appetite. I mean I am eating EVERYTHING in sight! I really am not looking forward to getting on the scale after this sickness, usually I lose weight, but I'm sure NOT this time. Dan brought home Mary's chicken dumpl'n soup for dinner last night and then my girlfriend brought over 2 pints of ice cream (thanks alot Stephanie) which was great but now I'm sure I'm going to have to work if off. There is no will power when I comes to ice cream with a soar throat, LOL
Today I gave Danny a hair cut, finally! He's a new man, whoo hoo. Watch out girls, here comes Mr. Charming :) I feel even more terrible when I'm sick like this as poor lil man just lays in bed. I'm keeping my distance! Good thing his bed is in the living room still, but I hate that he is hanging out by himself today :( Avrianna has crawled up in his bed here and there to bother him and keep him company.
Dan is off racing today at WIR in Kaukauna for the first time this year...yeap even in this 30 mph winds and chilly temps. This morning I believe it was 35 degrees here, you heard me 35! I swear next spring we are not coming home till June from Florida. This SUCKS we would MUCH rather be pool side!!
Well here's to another lazy day....wishing lazy days didn't consist of me being sick, sigh. I'm going to try and take a nap....very weak and lazy right now.
Our walk is on May 30th so ~ Please pledge your donations by clicking on the box to the left in our blog for Firstgivings and sponsor us on our walk for the Fox Valley Sibling Support Network fundraising walk. To read more on the FVSSN

So Mature!

Well Avrianna is SOOOOO excited that her glasses came in early. I can only hope that she keeps up the enthusiasm with wanting to wear them when she has too. She looks go good in them and so grown up. Why can't they stay small?? My glasses didn't come in yet, but should be in tomorrow or the next. Well here she is in all her glory.

Today the reporter contacted me and the article is due to run in the Post Crescent some time mid week (next week). I am hoping she will give me a heads up so I can get a couple extras to save for a scrap book. I will let you know when I know.
Avrianna and I made four loaves of bread today 2 pumpkin and 2 cookies and cream. I can't wait to try them. She just loves to make things, maybe she'll be a baker. She is at Pioneer's right now (kind of a girl scouts) so there is some "quiet" time around here that Danny and I are truly enjoying. Avrianna is always on the go and busy busy (wonder where she gets that from) so it nice to just have some Danny and mommy time.
This morning Danny and I went to PT and he did very well. Aaryn put in new foam into the bottom of his AFO's in hopes that he will not clench his toes as much when in them. So we will see how that goes. Just a note that just FRIES me...I was parked in the van access Handicap parking in the hospital parking lot. Not a sole by where I parked so when I got out a car has not only parked next to me but in the yellow lines for the lift to drop onto. That just pisses me off, not only are there do not park lines on the ground but I have a plain as day sign on the side of the van that states
So I had to pull the van out into the lane, turn the van off, unload the lift, put Danny in, load the lift back up, turn the van back on and go. I know petty but come on!! I really don't like having to block the parking lot up and load him in the middle of it. READ PEOPLE READ! ARGH!!
Tomorrow Danny and I are on our way back to Milwaukee, sigh, for a follow-up with Pulmnology. Hoping that will be a nice and quick visit but after the last visit with Ms Avrianna I am not assuming anything.
Here is the picture of the race car that was taken in Michigan.

Dan in all his glory!!

Update Finally

Well it's been awhile so warning this is a long post...time flies I guess! Let's see where to begin....Saturday Dan turned another year older so we gave him a call at the race track to wish him a happy birthday and good luck racing for the day, yeah September is big for our family with both our birthdays and our anniversary in the beginning of the month. Saturday the kids and I went to the local fire station as they had a safety thing going on. The weather was great and the kids has a nice time. Avrianna was so excited she got to go into a smoke house and she got to look through special binoculars that allow you to see in smoke. She said it was really hot in there and very smokey.
Sunday Dan came home from Racing in Michigan. It was a great time he said and he thinks next time we all should go as it was a very nice facility to be at. I believe the WIR team took place with in the top ten. Dan was able to get to know some of the "regular" guys from the race track better and he said he was happy he went. They took an AWESOME picture of the car taking off at the line (front wheels up and the rear tires wrinkled from the force) I am going to try and post it on here later.
Monday Danny had his first day of water therapy and he LOVED it! He was all smiles in the water. It's so good to get him back in the water, as he seems to "do" more in there. I really like getting him in warm water as there and only there is he gravity free so his little body can take a break and just float, plus he is off his butt for awhile. It's got to be uncomfortable to be on your butt all the time! I also got the lab result back that he had a while back. Most everything looks good. His protein was better then last, his seizure meds were at a good level, but the med that counter acts the seizure meds side effects were low. So I am increasing that one to a three time a day med too and then we are going to redo labs in a couple of weeks. If the levels are not where they should be Danny could get kidney/bladder stones and we DON'T want that. YIKES!
Today....Tuesday, what a day. First I had to get up EARLY to be to a meeting in Milwaukee I was late at getting out the door as lil man felt the need NOT to pee over night or when he got up so after alot of pleading with him I realized he wasn't going to do it on his own, argh, of all days the one I have to be somewhere. Well after that was taken care of off on the road we ALL went. Did I mention how much I hate driving in Milwaukee, I am soooooo not a big city girl. I like being able to get where I'm going in a matter of minutes, but not in Milwaukee I got stuck MILES away at very slow creep due to....what I don't know. So I was late....I hate being late, I felt like a putz! But the meeting went on and the kids were AWESOME!! I couldn't have hoped for them to be that good, WAY TO GO! After the meeting we were off to the Children's Hospital for a routine follow-up with Hematology for Ms Avrianna. I was totally blindsided with this one...I went in thinking this would be a 5 minute look at her and see you in a year. NOPE!!!!! Well the doctor feels strongly that her gall bladder NEEDS to be removed and while we are in there remove the inevitable spleen too. WOW didn't see that one coming, I knew it was in her future but didn't think NOW. Boy this is a whole new ball game, Avrianna surgery? So after the surgery she will be even more susceptible to infection and bacteria stuff as she will no longer the the "cleaning" organ to help her out. Even with it now it is hard on her but it still works to some degree. The doctor wanted to get labs to see how she is doing as her color was "off" and with the yellowing of the eyes. Plus he wanted to pinpoint if in fact her crisis this spring was brought on by the pravo virus or if something else triggered it. Avrianna usually gets a finger poke and out the door we go, not this time. I think the whole floor heard her scream! Boy for a lil girl she is sooooo strong. Trying to hold her down and keep her arm straight was definitely a challenge. The lab tech stated that she is ranking Avrianna on her top 5 list of deafening screams, yeah this is what we get to look forward too. She definitely puts the lab and surgery crap into perspective for me as Danny for the most part just goes with the flow, no screaming, no drama so she makes up for what he can't communicate. So tomorrow I will get the results of her tests and try to start the the scheduling process. WOW two really HUGE surgeries back to back one on each. How in the heck am I going to swing this? Well as you all know I am one for a challenge and I'm always on my game when I have multiple pots boiling on the fire. I'm sure it will all work out but right now alittle overwhelmed with processing it myself.
Tonight we had a meet and greet with most of the sub contractors working on our home. It was awesome!! I feel bad though as I wasn't able to talk with everyone as much as I would have liked, time just flew by, but they all know my face now(good or bad, heehee). I was just floored with everyone and their reaction to my family...most of them even said HI to Danny, that just warms my heart. For you all that walk in my shoes you know how big it is for complete strangers to acknowledge our kids. That means the world to me. I know some were uneasy asking me about Danny, but please don't, I love talking about my kids! I hope for the ones that are now following our story this site can bridge the unsettling feeling and you can see for yourself it's OK to ask. THANKS! To all the came tonight to help start this project off. Today they were out on the land starting to prep it for blasting the basement (we are on a rock bed). I so can't wait to see that....something you don't see everyday :)
Wow alot to process. I think (hope) that is it for now. I will definitely post more often as I guess I have too much stuff going on! Heehee. Please check out Matt's site as he is still in the hospital fighting off some respiratory bug and also Ryan's as I found out this afternoon he was admitted too! ARGH
Take care and thanks for thinking of us!

Make A Wish Walk/Run

A HUGE THANK YOU to all that supported the Osero's and Niemuth's in the Make a Wish Walk/Run. Our final total was $1305.00, WOW! That is awesome! The weather held out and is was a great time by all. I think we are going to make this an annual tradition for the Osero's. Here are some pictures of the crew. We also had a newspaper photographer following us the first half of the race as in early October the Post Cresent is going to be doing an article on Connie, Griffin, Myself, and Danny. I will let you know the details so you can keep our eyes out for it.

All the Wish kids that participated in the walk!

THE BOYS!

Dan, Avrianna, and Rhiannon heading our pack.

Here we are!!!

After the walk we all went home to rest alittle as the whole family felt the need to be up extra extra early yesterday. Danny and I were up at 4 as the Bipap came out of his nose and was blowing in his eyes (it happened yet again this morning too, so not happy about this, ARGH!). Avrianna was up by 6:30 and all dressed ready to go walking. Dan was up by 5 to pack up the race car so when we got home from the walk he would be all ready to go racing. So needless to say there was no reason for us to be late. We ended up getting there early then I had planned so Avrianna was able to do the Kids Dash (which she had a causality and fell, but recovered well).
Here's a recent picture of the car! And he did well at the races last night.

After Dan took off to go racing the kids and I went over to Connie's to chat and visit. Our couple hours turned into 6.....THANKS Connie for the wonderful hospitality, I needed to get OUT and chat it up with you. What a wonderful (long over due) time together.
Please keep Little Miss Reesie (one of the kiddos I follow) in your thoughts. As in the last few days she's gotten some infection and is now fighting for her life. The family feels that she is coming to end of her young life and might be earning her wings soon.
Thanks to all that support and follow our story, it really means alot to us!

The Bug

Danny continues to be very congested and cries alot. Poor thing just can't breathe very well with being stuffy. He has started a fever so hoping it's just do to the extra effort with breathing not an infection. We are monitoring it close. We were to go to the Kimberly Roller Skating Rink tonight with our support group families but not too sure we are going to go now with Danny not bouncing back well. Maybe today he will have a better day, but it's not looking to promising.
Avrianna's color is back and I think she has gotten rid of the bug. I can only hope they don't decide to pass this thing back and forth now! She is back full tilt into her schooling, as we gave her a vacation from it when we were on the road. I have her signed up for some programs this fall thru the Rec Dept here that I think she is really going to enjoy, drama, art projects, and her favorite the Daddy Daughter formal Dance in the winter. Swimming will start up again soon so she'll be back in the water before she knows it.
Dan is off racing today (as long as the weather holds off). Boy this year has been a difficult one with racing and the weather. I spent all afternoon yesterday putting the decals on the car of all the sponsors for him and his racing. I will try and post pictures of the car all done up soon. These are old picture of the car and one of the times the kids went to the races.
Last night I had a girls night out and it was great. We went to a local park and watched Boogie and the YoYo's play again. Yeap I'm starting to become a groupie. They are awesome! I even bought a T-shirt and CD and will try to get the band to sign them.
Well it's FINALLY official........WE HAVE LAND!! After 1.5 years of deligently looking for the perfect spot to put our forever home on we have it. We are staying in the school district so Danny's therapist can still work with him and we are going to by a subdivision so we will still of the space of our acres and yet near children for the kids to make friends. I am so excited. We are planning on starting the digging in the next couple weeks. A HUGE THANK YOU to the best real estate agent ever, WOODY! She put up with us for so long and never gave up on making our home have an awesome spot. Or home is still on schedule to be in the Fall 2009 parade of homes here in the area so it's about 1 year away before we'll be able to move in, but time will just flying by.
