"North for the Fourth"

Friday I got word that Papa Dan was getting out of the hospital, so I loaded up the camper and the kids to head up to Tomahawk. Dan was already up there for a meeting so he had a head start on me. The drive went very well and I made in good time. I was pleasantly surprised that the traffic wasn't nuts. Once we got to Tomahawk and the camper was all set we met up with some of the other Osero's and had a good old fish fry :) Well here's the jokerster himself Papa Dan...all that he's been through and he still keeps a smile on his face, he'll tell ya a "story", and he ALWAYS tries to put a smile on every ones faces. We LOVE you Papa!

On the 4th it rained pretty much ALL day. We (Danny and I) hid under a building awning while Dan took Avrianna out by the street side to watch the parade & catch the candy in downtown Tomahawk. Boy does that town have the firetrucks! I think everyone was spit shinned and in the parade. Danny wasn't too impressed with the horns or sirens but hey they were firetrucks :) I was great seeing and chatting with family down at the parade. Danny & I walked through the craft sale with our close family friend Amanda the day before while Avrianna hung out in the river and Dan hung out with Tim. Yes, Amanda I went back and got the dalmatian set (cute set with the Momma and her 3 pups all made out of wood and painted). I had to do it, I should have just listened to you, LOL. It was so nice to see The Lang's and chat with them for awhile.
Ready for the parade!

Dan was cuddling with Danny in the morning and Lil Man was ALL smiles!

As a tradition in Tomahawk the fire dept has water wars in the the street amongst each other after the parade. Here Avrianna patiently waits for them to get everything set up
One dept is on one side and another on the other side and they spray each other till the Captain says which side wins. This is as close I wanted to get, I didn't want to get drenched
Once they are done ...... they spray the crowd and let the kids run in the water :)
All drenched! Avrianna and her fav playmate in Tomahawk, Whitney Osero.

After the parade we went back and got ready for dinner at Art n Jeanie Osero's. We had a blast, it's ALWAYS a good time with them. Not to mention we got extremely lucky as their daughter Lori was in town. She's a photographer in Vegas and Jeanie asked if she would shoot some family pics of us. OMG ~ I'm so grateful! I can't wait to see them. I wish I was more prepared as I didn't have "picture" clothes along so we just threw stuff together. Thanks Lori for taking time during your vacation to do that for us. You were wonderful with the kids :)
I have to go in on Wednesday for a thyroid ultrasound and more lab work so we'll see what comes from that. It's always something, right
Danny is still all set to go on the 13th for surgery, BUT he will not be able to do the PICC line placement here in the Valley before. We'll just go down alil earlier for them to do that before the surgery. I was told that the local hospital couldn't get the right catheter that Danny needs, that it isn't even made.......BUT CHOW is suppose to have it in there hands. So I'll be very interested to see who's right here, do they have the right one? Anxiety is setting in now that it's a week out, sigh. I can't wait till this is over with and we can put it behind us. I'm hoping we can get back to some "normalcy" very soon.
I've almost got Avrianna's birth to 1 yr old scrap book done. WOW - I didn't think I'd like to scrapbook so must. It's a DEstresser for me I think. Where did ALL this time go, my baby girl is growing up. Then I'm going to start Danny's book. At least I'll have something more productive to do at the hospital now :)
I will keep you all posted !

What we're up too

Today Avrianna had her play for her summer school in drama. She was Wendy in the Peter Pan skit. She did WONDERFUL....I had no doubt as drama is her middle name, LOL. I'm very proud of her :) She did a lil gymnastics act, remembered all her lines, and spoke loud n clear for all to hear. VERY NICE JOB!

So Beautiful ~ Can't believe my baby girl........

...... looks SO GROWN UP :)

It's been pretty crazy around here the last two days. Dan's dad, Papa, has been in the hospital. They had thought he was having a heart attack. After two days of test n procedures they are finding it wasn't...his heart does have so minor things going on but nothing to warrant his pain. So they were going to keep him overnight yet tonight and send him home tomorrow. UM......NO you haven't found out what's wrong with him. Don't you think you'd keep looking if he's still having chest pain, even if the heart checks out? Dan is up there with his Dad right now so I'm hoping he steps up and questions them on what they are going to do about looking into it more. It's GREAT that it wasn't a heart attack BUT what's going on then. I can't believe how narrow minded some docs can be. UGH!
We are still planning on going UP NORTH FOR THE FOURTH to be with Papa n Claudia for the holiday weekend, even if it's just popping in the hospital to say HI and give him some much needed grief (LOL) or we're going to bring up the camper and hang out at their place. With Dan being up north already I'll pack up and drive the kids up there in the camper.
Surgery is a GO for Danny's spine on July 13th. All his labs came back within Danny "normal" limits. The only thing pending is if we'll be able to get his PICC line placed up here a couple days before or if we'll need to go alil earlier in the morning of surgery to have it placed down at CHOW. We're waiting to hear if the local hospital can get the proper PICC line that Danny needs as they don't carry them so it's a special order thing...go figure!
I had a follow up with my neurologist this week. They are finding that I have lost some strength and sight all on my left side. I've noticed it alil but no enough to hinder me in anyway :) They also did some labs and once again my Thyroid numbers are too low meaning I have hypothyroidism. I'm awaiting consult from my primary doc to find out what the plan of attack is. Not really what I wanted to hear, BUT oh well. It's going to be very hard to determine what's what as an MS flare and the symptoms of low thyroid are VERY close. Just what I need two different diagnosis with the same symptoms, BRING IT ON! LOL
Bailey has been a very good girl and I haven't had to put the cone back on. Her incisions are healing very nicely. :)
Not only do we have Osero's organic garden BUT we had 6 fruit trees planted this week too. We have an orchard that consists of 2 pear, 2 plum, and 2 apple trees. Ya I know, like I need any more to do, but I think it's going to be neat. As long as I can keep those darn deer out of the yard. Today, in the middle of the day with us outside, we had 2 deer walk right into the yard. Yes they have NO FEAR! So looks like I'm going to have to start to play hard ball. They have at least left the garden alone since the fence went up. Yesterday I went out to put up the rings around the tomato bushes (yes they are no longer plants, they are HUGE) which I've realized the next year I will need to put them up alot sooner. Live n learn, right? I believe we already have about 25 tomato's :) Dan already ate a hot banana pepper right from the plant....I don't think he's going to do that again, LOL. Why is it guys get cocky when it comes to eating hot things, maybe some day he'll live n learn. Hahahahahahha ~ I doubt it!
Avrianna has gone over to a friends house tonight for a sleepover, Dan's up north with his Dad, and Danny & I are enjoying the peace n quiet. Not sure what we'll do with our free night, but I think there's a sappy movie and cocktail in store for this momma :) Danny doesn't mind watching the tear jerker movie with me.
Thanks for stopping by to check in on us. We LOVE hearing from you too so drop us a note in the comments or in our guestbook. Please have a SAFE n Happy 4th of July!
