And the Blogging Slacker award goes to.............
ME!!
Dan has been on me to update for a couple weeks now, but everything around here is pretty calm cool and collected so I didn't have anything too interesting to report. I will have to fill you in with whats we've been up too the last month
Av ~
Has been learning some new dives at practice. I'm so impressed with how well she takes on the direction of her coach and goes up on the board and gives it her all. No fear this kid has.....challenge her and she's like GAME ON!! We are getting ready to head out for her 1st meet out of 2 in Chicago this month. It's just going to be a "girls weekend" so the the boys will have to hold down the fort while we're gone. I will post photos and videos of her competition for you all to enjoy once we get back. She is all signed up for a diving camp in Iowa which will be right after the Zone Competition in Iowa. That makes it so convenient to be right there already. She really enjoyed her time at Iowa when she was there 2 summers ago for dive camp and wanted to return rather then trying out a different camp. As of now she has her heart on becoming an Iowa Hawkeye for College so she's eager to learn some of the ropes around there.
We just had Av's conferences and once again I'm very proud to report she is an excellent student. It just warms my heart to hear that she is wonderful to her teachers, peers and can continue to keep up her grades with her busy schedule. Av was in ski club this year and LOVED it. She originally started off skiing and then went over to snowboarding after she went her cousin for lessons.
Once again the summer is filling up fast for Ms Av. It's hard even think about summer with it feeling so far way as the temps are still below normal around here, but summer WILL COME.......
Right?!?
She is also signed up for a Confirmation camp, and she is going once again to Camp Onaway (Boys n Girls Brigade Camp), in addition to the dive Camp in Iowa. If she qualifies for diving Nationals this year again then we'll be spending a week down in Orlando, FL at the end of the summer. Busy Busy Busy!!!
Dan ~
This winter Dan tried his luck on the ice with his buddy for Sturgeon Spearing. Unfortunately no fish were harvested, but it was interesting regardless. Big surprise Dan has been pretty busy....NOT! But he's been extra busy with some up coming training and conferences he will be going to in addition to our employee being on leave for knee surgery. So he's been burning the midnight oil with all that he has going on.
Talk about Burning......unfortunately our Laundry in Oshkosh had a dryer fire a couple days ago and that is requiring extra work. The dryer was toast but other then that the fire was pretty much contained, now to have all the smoke damage to deal with. Amazing how much smoke can do, YUCK!
Dan is eager for the snow to melt and get the construction back up and running on our new adventure. We purchased the land next to the Oshkosh laundry and are in the construction stage of putting up a 2/3 tenant building to lease. Thankfully the weather cooperated enough the beginning of the winter to get the preliminary things completed so once the snow is gone the building construction can start.
Dan and I have had the chance to go see some movies and we really enjoyed the last 2 starring Kevin Costner "Black or White" and "McFarland". Both great movies and highly recommend them, He's trying to redeem himself for tricking me to see a wrestling movie that I would have to say was one of the worst movies out there.
He's been having some lower back side pain so he's walking around like an old man and I've been picking on him seeing he's literally a pain in the a$$ ~ lol
Danny ~
Danny has been keeping me on my toes lately. Last week we had a cold (that he graciously decided to share with his mom). He's also been experiencing new "episodes" that we were thinking were seizures, but after sending videos to his Ped and Neuro they both think they are NOT seizures, but more of a movement disorder called dyskinesia. Well I guess we add another diagnosis to the mix. We now just have to figure out how to control them. This morning Danny decided to through his regular seizure in the mix for alil excitement for me today (of course on a day without nursing). He unfortunately was stuck in a continuous cycle that needed to be broken with multiple rescue meds, which now resulted in my Lil Man being snowed out cold. It just breaks my heart to see him struggle. I just LOVE my lil super Hero so much and I wish I could just make it all better for him. Now we wait to get a game plan as to what to do. I'm going to assume a longer EEG will need to be done to figure out what we are actually dealing with.
We went down to CHOW last week for a couple appts and he did great! First appt was to the dentist for a cleaning and to have his last baby tooth (or what was left of the tooth) pulled...my baby isn't a baby no longer. Both of the kids no longer have their baby teeth left :( He was such a trooper at the dentist, I'm so proud of him. Then it was off to see the Orthopedic Dr and have some xrays. Everything thing looked great from a spine and hip stand point.... YAY!! Unless we have concerns or issues we are cleared for 1 yr follow ups. WOW I never would have thought that would happen. Way to GO Danny!!
Next week we are training a nurse to fill the last remaining day that was open. I am excited about bringing her on, now I just hope she will be able to competently take care of Danny. Time will tell, but I have high hopes that she will work well. She's worked with trache/vent kids, she's newer to the RN world, and I just love her personality. Cross your fingers and say a prayer for us.
Me ~
I've been doing pretty good for the most part. I started up on a new venture to becoming a healthier me and started the program Isagenix. One word for ya....
WOW
I enjoy the flavors of all the products and it's very easy to follow. In just 12 short days I've released 9lbs and over 4+ inches. I can't wait to see what the end result will be after finishing the 1st 30 day program. I'm already committing myself to continue on with it after the first 30 days. It's not a diet !! It's a 2 meal replacement and cleanse program that I can't believe how easy and tasty it is. I've been on a lot of programs and they have all failed me. THIS ONE is exactly what I've been looking for. If you are looking for a great program with a wonderful support system just ask and I can answer any questions you may have and I can get you all set up. I can't tell you how excited I am about Isagenix!!
Well that's about it ~ I know pretty low key for us. I like low key though. It's nice when life can slow down for us once in awhile. I hope you all are doing well. We are expecting another 5" of snow tomorrow and then the temps look like they might actually be back within normal temps (mid to high 30's). Pretty sad when 30's are looking like a heat wave.
Take care and thanks for stopping by to check on us!
